“Vigilance And Caution Needed On Run Up to July 12th”
“Over the past number of weeks we have been receiving reports concerning a number of sectarian attacks upon Nationalists in areas throughout the six counties.
Two of these attacks have been within the past week in North Belfast. On the 26th of this month four loyalists from the Ballysillan area driving along the upper Crumlin Road got out and proceeded to attack a Nationalist youth with batons resulting in him sustaining a number of injuries, including a broken leg. On the night of the 27th a Man leaving a GAA club in the Glengormley area was set upon and beaten by loyalists, he was severely injured.
A majority of these attacks go unreported in the media. If they are carried, not a mention is made of the fact that these are sectarian, by loyalists and are organised in advance. Such is the “Wouldn’t it be great if it were like this all the time” NIO peace process line that the mainstream media is blindly adhered to that they would have us believe that these sectarian attacks have not and do not occur. That atrocities such as the bludgeoning to death of Kevin Mc Daid was a rare case of Loyalists being over eager in expressing their Cultural and Religious rights.
The British paramilitary ‘Police’ of the RUC/PSNI force Orange marches of hate through Nationalist areas. They remain true to form and cannot be looked upon to provide any useful service by means of protection to a community that they assist in oppressing.
The Republican Network for Unity calls upon the Nationalist people throughout the six-counties to increase their vigilance as to strangers travelling in and/or around where they live. Take note of any suspicious activity and report this to a Republican activist in your area. Caution and an increase in personal security must be taken at all times if an atrocity such as the murder of Kevin Mc Daid is not to be repeated.
