WHY WE OPPOSE THE PSNI

Anybody willing to open their eyes will recognise that working class communities in the north including those with long histories and legacies of resistance to British / loyalist repression are being reduced to a shadow of their former selves by criminal and anti-social elements.

Random assaults, drug epidemics and anti-social crimes such as creeper burglaries and death driving have made once proud communities a place of real fear for many (including republicans) who grew up in streets once bound together by strong ties of solidarity and neighbourly responsibility.

Republican Colin Duffy - ANOTHER CASE OF INTERNMENT BY REMAND.

RNU demand the release of Lurgan republican Colin Duffy, Brendan McConville and the 17 year old youth who have now joined the list of those held on remand in British, Irish and foreign jails. These tactics are being employed by an increasingly worried British establishment in a crude attempt to silence the renewed and determined political resistance of Irish republicans on this island.

RELEASE REPUBLICANS NOW! The detention of these individuals and others should not be lost on all republicans and community activists. This new legislation will seriously undermine the human rights of suspects and has the potential to lead to false convictions.
